Harvest and Gift Day: 11th October

We will be celebrating Harvest Festival at our service on 11th October. This is an opportunity to give thanks for all that we have and bring gifts which will help those who do not have enough food. There will be a box in church for gifts of food for DENS, our local foodbank. To find out what DENS are particularly in need of, please click here.

We give to others because God has been so generous to us. We will be continue this theme by holding our postponed Gift Day at Harvest too.  Gift Day gives us a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude to God for all he gives us and to share God’s love with others. Last year we raised an amazing £4685. From this money, we were able to make donations to MAF, Willen Hospice, Playskill and the Salvation Army as well as there being gifts to the work of St John’s.  If you have already made a donation to Gift Day this year, thank you! If you have not yet done so, please prayerfully consider what God is asking you to give and place your donation in the Gift Day envelopes which will be in church. Do speak to Edith, our treasurer if you have any questions about Gift Day.

All good gifts around us
are sent from heav’n above;
then thank the Lord, O thank the Lord
for all his love.
