With the closure of church buildings because of lockdown we are sadly unable to worship in St John’s at present. However we are opening the building for private prayer on Wednesdays 9.30-10.30 each week until further notice. If you are looking for some lovely quiet space in which to pause and pray or to just sit for a while and reflect, you are very welcome.
While St John’s is shut, our worship continues from the safety of our homes. Details on this website. We also continue to pray from home. If you would like prayer for yourself for someone else, please do leave a prayer request on the porch noticeboard or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note that you will need to wear a mask and use hand gel when you enter the building. You also need to be careful to maintain social distance in and around the church building.
“Prayer is my first response when I feel out of my depth, when I need help, when I am worried, when I am concerned for those I love. It is a gift that God gives to all – whether you are a regular pray-er or not – bring your cares and the cares of the nation to God. For God loves and hears and holds. Prayer changes things.”
Archbishop Justin Welby
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
St Paul, Letter to the Philippians 4.6-7
